About Allandale Winery
Located in the Lower Hunter Valley wine growing region of New South Wales is the medium-sized winery, Allandale. It is a modern facility, which has the happy ability to blend state-of-the-art techniques, with traditional winemaking.
Allandale Winery was established in 1978 and has since created a very much deserved reputation as a producer of premium quality varietal wines. They have several sources for the fruit, among which are the Hilltops region, near Young, NSW, McLaren Vale, the Mudgee area, but in the main from the Hunter Valley.
Wally and Judith Atallah are the proprietors of Allandale Winery and have coaxed and cajoled the vines over the years to grow from a small winery to one that now produces wines for all the eastern states, as well as for many overseas markets, too.
Bill Sneddon, the manager, a graduate in Oenology from Charles Sturt University, is the winemaker and also takes care of oversees marketing and sales operations. He’s a very busy man.
The Allandale Winery is a boutique winery with all that that entails. It sits on a hill which overlooks their seventeen acres and also has a grand view of the Lower Hunter and Brokenback Range.
The region and surrounds have become known as Lovedale. It has guest houses, restaurants, an eighteen-hole golf course and art galleries.
The range of quality wines from the Allandale Winery is impressive and is renowned for the rich flavours, bold structure and varietal character.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Sangiovese, Semillon, Shiraz and Verdelho are among the delights to be tasted at Allandale at their cellar door, where you’ll be made most welcome.
Try some of their many award-winning varieties and you will be happily rewarded by the experience.
