About Burton Premium Wines
Burton Premium Wines sources its grapes from some of the most famous wine regions in Australia, including McLaren Vale and the famed ‘terra rosa’ soil of the Coonawarra. This allows them to take advantage of the strengths and characteristics of each of these special areas.
The selection of mature vines is subjected to strict tests in the vineyard and the fruit is picked at its peak. This coincides with the vision of the owners to produce only the finest wines that reflect the greatness of each region from which they originate; such as Cabernet from the Coonawarra and Shiraz from McLaren Vale. It is a mark of the exceptional quality of these wines that they are only available on a strictly limited release basis.
Some of the top winemakers in Australia are involved in the making of the wines at Burton Premium Wines. These wines display great structure and flavour, with deep colour and bouquet. The winemakers are Mike Farmilo at Boar's Rock in McLaren Vale, who used to be the winemaker at Seaview, and Pat Tocaciu of Patrick T Wines, who was the winemaker at Hollicks and Tollana.
These talented winemakers bring together the best of modern technology, while embracing the traditional methods. It is a powerful combination and one that consistently produces wines of the very highest quality,
Nigel Burton and Dr Ray Healey are the directors of Burton Premium Wines and they have a mutual vision to create excellence in winemaking, business management, marketing and sales.
Barrie Tucker of Tucker Design, one of Adelaide's top international designers, was commissioned to create the Burton Premium Wine identity. Between them they chose the symbol of the Roman Archer as their centrepiece; the portrayal is that it signifies ‘the birth of wine, its strength, complexity, forward thinking and the striving for excellence.’ All of which are the hallmarks of Burton Premium Wines.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz are the wonderful varieties available on their web site.
