About Wilksch Estate Wines

Wilksch Estate Wines are situated on South West Slopes region of New South Wales. They are makers of wonderful classic wines. The Wilksch family, consisting of Kevin and Roslyn and their three sons Richard, Simon and Matthew, run the estate with a totally hands-on approach.

They use traditional techniques in their viticultural processes to create their own distinctive premium wines that reflect all the subtle nuances of the South West Slopes.

With this hands-on approach, they are able to hand-pick the grapes and select only the best of them to make their special wines. They have six varieties of grapes and two ranges of wine styles at Wilksch Estate, which are showing greater quality with each vintage.

The Plough Range is their first range to be marketed; they are a selection of oaked and un-oaked wines. The logo of the plough on the label represents the real plough which has been in their family for five generations and symbolizes their philosophy of ‘Hands-on Hard-work’ in making their superb wines.

The Wilksch Estate Family Range tends more towards the sweeter, un-oaked styles of wine. The fruit for these wines is premium quality and is their newest in their range of wines. Three special family members, Laura, Roslyn and Fred, are depicted on the labels of these bottles.

Wilksch Estate Wines has been in winemaking for four generations, with the first vines planted in the early 1920s. Kevin and Roslyn made this their family home over forty years ago and have worked the land ever since. When the kids were old enough, they, too, got themselves involved in the every-day tasks of running a busy vineyard. They still do that to this day, although Richard and Matthew have moved away, they still return at harvest time to help out.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Shiraz are the wonderful wines available from their web site.
