About Eling Forest Vineyard & Winery

Eling Forest Vineyard & Winery is located in Bowral in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and is one of the great cool-climate wineries that grace the region.

They planted their first vines in 1993 and the cool growing season in the Southern Highlands makes for conditions that bring the grapes to a high level and the wines to a crisp texture and clear flavour.  Their output runs to around 30,000 bottles a year and they have a Cellar Door which operates five days a week.

Michelle Crockett, the winemaker, has over ten years in the wine industry and is a graduate of Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Wine Science).  She has worked in wineries in the Southern Highlands and South Coast Regions in NSW Australia and overseas, too.

Her consulting contract winemaking company is called Agrape - Drop and she creates wines for eighteen individual wineries.  She says that the growth of the wine industry in the region is phenomenal and there are some great wines to be had.  She goes on to say, that 'It is an exciting time in the Southern Highlands, as the cool climate estate wines are being recognised both locally and overseas.'

The Eling Forest Restaurant uses mostly local produce for their menu and frequently updates it according to the seasons.  They have many award-winning wines on their wine list, including ones made at their own winery.

They have beautiful garden setting to host weddings and a new function centre which can handle up to 200 guests.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Merlot, Unwooded Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Semillon and Shiraz are the main varieties available at their Cellar Door.  They also feature a Botrytis Semillon and a Cherry Port.

So, for a wonderful day out, or for a special occasion, Eling Forest Vineyard & Winery is the place to go to in the great Southern Highlands.
