About Tertini Wines
Tertini Wines is located at Mandemar Lane, Mandemar, New South Wales. They are makers of wonderful regional wines that reflect all the great attributes of the Southern Highlands.
It is a cool climate vineyard which produces slow-ripening grapes that display great characters and make wines of elegance and subtlety. The wines have a high natural acidity, which makes for a clean finish and will cellar very well.
The vineyard, known as ‘Yaraandoo’, is close to the historic village of Berrima and lies at an altitude of 715 metres; and even though the vines were only planted on 2000, they are already giving up superb fruit.
They won a Gold Medal and a Trophy for the very first wine, a Tertini Riesling, in their first wine show. With each subsequent vintage, they win more and more medals and obtain great reviews from some of Australia’s leading wine writers. Such wonderful results are indicative of a rosy future for the vineyard and for the region, too.
Their viticulturist, a recognised expert on cool climate wine growing, and in particular, the Southern Highlands, is able to bring all his considerable knowledge to bear in the production of the fruit.
The grapes are hand picked to make sure that the best fruit is used to make their wonderful wines. The winemakers are also cool climate experts, whose experience and knowledge are utilised to the maximum to bring the wines to the high degree of quality for which Tertini Wines is fast becoming famous.
They also have from time to time, when a particular vintage produces exceptional fruit, wines that are released under their Private Collection label.
They do not have a Cellar Door, but their range of wines can be ordered on line. They include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Arneis, Lagrein, Pinot Noir and Riesling.
