About Robert Channon Wines

Located in the Granite Belt district of Queensland at an elevation of 950 metres is the winery of Robert Channon Wines.

Established in 1998, it is a family-owned winery and produced its first vintage in 2001 with their Verdelhos garnering themselves a fine reputation amongst wine lovers.  In fact, it was said that “the 2002, 2003, 2004 vintages of Robert Channon Verdelho are probably the greatest lineage of this varietal in the world…”

Robert Channon Wines also holds a wide range of concerts during the year.  2008 has already witnessed an old time music hall show with black tie or Victorian dress obligatory!  The proceeds from this were donated to charity.  The rest of the year will see concerts as diverse as the Canticum Chamber Choir and an outdoor brass band and jazz band day.  The indoor concerts take place in the winery’s Swigmore Hall.  There are concessions for pensioners and students and lunches are also available before the concerts although it is necessary to book these beforehand.

Also on offer is membership of the Robert Channon Wine Club.  This provides members with a 10% discount on cellar door prices.

With a stunning lake view, the Singing Lake Café opens, along with the cellar door, on weekdays from 11am to 4pm and on weekends from 10am to 5pm.  Weddings and functions can be catered for.  They are closed on Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day.
