South Burnett is one of the most prominent of all Queensland's wine regions. It holds the largest vineyards and wineries, as well as a fine cluster of smaller boutique cellar doors and distilleries. This great region is famous throughout the state of Queensland for the production of superb premium wines and the national and international wine shows awards just keep on coming.
Barambah Wines are about two and a half hours north west of Brisbane and around two from the Sunshine Coast. There are daily wine tours to the sub-tropical region of South Burnett and Barambah Wines is one of the attractions on the tour. Most of the thirteen Cellar Doors in the region are open seven days a week.
The first vines at Barambah were planted in 1995 and today they have seven hectares planted to vine, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon and Shiraz.
Their winemaker is Peter Scudamore-Smith, who is a Master of Wine. He brings all his considerable skills to bear in the making of their top quality wines.
