About Clovely Estate

Clovely Estate is located on Steinhardts Road, Moffatdale, via Murgon, in the South Burnett region of Queensland. They are the largest fine wine processors in Queensland.

The South Burnett region is very similar in its terroir to the famous Hunter Valley region of New South Wales and is ideal for growing top quality grapes.

The vineyard was established in 1998, after a great deal of research into potential regions. The proprietors eventually agreed upon the South Burnett region as being the perfect place to begin their vineyard. It also represented a wonderful opportunity to expand the growth of the Queensland wine industry.

The Clovely Estate now owns and manages 175 hectares of grapes at their Moffatdale location. They sell their wines under their own label, both in Australia and overseas; they also sell bulk wine to a number of Australia’s most prominent wine producers. It is completely owned by the family.

Their wines are all made from their own estate-grown fruit, which include such classics as Cabernet, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Shiraz and Verdelho.

The vineyard is covered in basalt over limestone soils, with a good water supply. It has fairly cool nights and low humidity. These conditions are excellent for growing superior grapes and is one of the main reasons that the Clovely Estate is so successful. It also helps that the team is very knowledgeable and hard-working.

The aim of Clovely Estate is to ‘produce consistently excellent wines that represent value for money’. That they achieve this is an understatement. Their wines are superb and most definitely are value for money.

The luxury of owning their own winery means that they have full control of the quality at all times. From the vine to the wine, all the processes are under constant scrutiny, right down to the labelling and container packing.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Grenache, Mataro, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Semillon and Shiraz are all available at their Cellar Door.
