About Glengariff Estate Winery
Glengariff Estate Winery is located on Mount Mee Road, Dayboro Valley, Queensland. It is situated in the South Burnett wine region and is one of the oldest vineyards in the greater Brisbane area.
The estate is owned by Tracey and Andrew Wrightson, whose children represent the sixth generation of the family to live and work on the property since 1876.
The estate runs to 230 acres and is named after a coastal dairy town in Ireland called Glengariff, from where the first of the settlers of the property came. The name is presumed to mean ‘pastures of opulence’; very appropriate!
Their boutique wines are all made from the hand-picked grapes from their vineyard. A portion of these grapes are used to make their limited-release wines and reflect the Queensland lifestyle and all its special refined epicurean tastes.
Glengariff Estate has been in operation since the 1870s and began its life as a family dairy farm. The vineyards were planted in 1999 and the estate has become something of a tourist attraction, with facilities for special functions, corporate events and weddings from every corner of the world.
The great, great grand daughter of this pioneering family generation, Tracey, and her husband, Andrew, donated three acres of their property to the Pine Rivers Shire Council for parkland. They named it Edna Doyle Reserve in honour of Tracey’s grandmother who lived in the Dayboro Valley all of her life.
The facilities at the vineyard are excellent for club functions and have a wonderful outlook and a great atmosphere. Whoever makes the booking for a function can be in the running to win a dozen of their finest wines.
Corporate functions and special events, too, can be catered for and they will provide a variety of special menus which they would be happy to discuss with you.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz are all available at their Cellar Door.
