About Fyffe Field Wines
The Fyffe Field Wines vineyard is located near Yarrawonga and the Murray River in the Goulburn Valley, one of the great wine regions of Australia.
This seven-hectare, family-owned vineyard is planted to the classic varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Semillon and Shiraz. Other varieties also add to their range, with Petit Verdot, Touriga and Verdelho being planted, too.
Their motto is ‘Quality not Quantity’ and they concentrate on limiting their crop yields to produce premium quality grapes that have deep colour and intense flavour
Favourable weather conditions ensure that their grapes can reach maturity without stress, as does the ready availability of irrigation water. Nevertheless, they believe that a little stress to the vines at the optimum time actually helps them to work just that little harder and produce the right amount of acidity and sugar.
The people at Fyffe Field Wines believe in caring for the land on which they grow their vines and as such, use as little chemical intervention as possible in their disease eradication programme.
They hand-pick the grapes when they have reached their peak to avoid any harm to the fruit and to keep the costs down. With such small parcels of vines, mechanical harvesting is prohibitive anyway.
The Diamond family own Fyffe Field Wines, the name of which represents the family tree and their journey into winemaking. Glenn is the viticulturalist and responsible for all that that entails. Liz takes care of the day-to-day Cellar Door operations. Between the two of them, they are committed to producing wines of exceptional quality and believe in giving value for money.
At their Cellar Door you can enjoy free tastings of their range of wines, which include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Touriga, Petit Verdot, Semillon, Shiraz and Verdelho and their ‘the quirky Tawny Snort’. Take a look at their ornamental pig collection. Have a barbecue and let the kids play in the playground.
