About Karriview Wines

Karriview Wines is located at the corner of Scotsdale and Roberts Roads near Denmark, WA. It is a small, picturesque property on the south coast of Western Australia.

The four-hectare vineyard was established in 1986 and planted to vine with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It has a fine restaurant and a Cellar Door, where seasonal local produce is on offer. The property sits among the vines and Karri trees and is a wonderful place to visit.

You can sit in the glass-surrounded rooms that overlook the property, while sipping one of their wines, or tasting their great food. Their chef and all the staff will welcome you and prepare for you a wonderful meal, while you take in the views and relaxing atmosphere.

The proprietors chose Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines to plant in their vineyard because of the cool climate, which the believed was ideal for their plans. Around 8,000 vines were closely planted, giving an average of three tonnes an hectare.

The soils are principally red loam, with granite outcrops. The presence of the Karri trees in the area create a unique micro-climate that promotes slow ripening. This slow ripening produces wonderful flavours in the fruit and enhances the overall quality.

They have a policy at the vineyard of using eco-friendly, organic growing techniques and do not use pesticides. There are many varieties of birds in the area, nesting and resting in the Karri trees and these are discouraged from robbery by netting the vines to protect the fruit, without harming the birds.

The Cellar Door restaurant at Karriview Wines is also the perfect setting for small weddings, lunches or celebrations of any kind. And of course, you can always sample their great selection of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz as well as make purchases.

So, come along and have yourself a great time and taste some of the best wines in the region.
