About Arlewood Estate

Established in 1988, the Arlewood Estate can be found in the Wilyabrup Valley of the Margaret region in Western Australia. It is just four kilometres from the coast and sits on top of a rich topsoil which gives way to a loamy clay.

In 1995, close to Cowaramup, the Gosatti family planted a small vineyard before buying Arlewood in 1999. They completed the outright purchase of the estate in 2005 and ever since have worked towards a vision of producing fine wines.

The Estate is a combination of planted pasture, bushland and creeklines.

Partnered with a well-established treeline, the fruits at Arlewood are protected from the prevailing South-West winds and allowed to ripen slowly. This ensures that there is a maximum intensity of flavour in the grape.

The vines planted at Arlewood include: 10 year old Chardonnay and younger Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz; 11 year old Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz; 17 year old Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. The vines grow in an area of 15 hectares.

The wines are made under contract with the first-class facilities of Voyager Estate and Juniper Estate playing an integral role in the process. Vineyard practices are carried out under the watchful eye of Ian Bell of Moss Wood whilst the marketing and selling domain falls under the auspices of Gary Gosatti and Terry Chellappah.

The wines include: 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (very limited), 2002 Cabernet Merlot, 2002 Shiraz, 2003 Chardonnay Reserve, 2003 Semillon, 2004 Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Cabernet Merlot, 2004 Shiraz, 2004 Semillon, 2005 Chardonnay, 2005 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and 2007 Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Wines are available fro the Estate’s cellar door and the on-line ordering facility. They can also be found at The Cowaramup Regional Wine Centre, restaurants and selected premium wine retailers.
